Yue “Melody” Yin

Clinical Trial Manager | Eikon Therapeutics

Originally from China, Yue “Melody” Yin moved to the United States at 15 years old in 2001 and overcame numerous challenges while learning English and assimilating into American society. She ultimately became bilingual and fluent in both Mandarin and English and excelled in the classroom—her multicultural background, she believes, significantly contributed to her adaptability and maturity. Her journey into healthcare was shaped largely by the loss of her grandfather from lung cancer when she was in high school, inspiring her to devote herself to cancer research and make a difference in people’s lives.

Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts in molecular and cellular biology from the University of California, Berkeley, where she covered her tuition through a scholarship, Ms. Yin decided she wanted to pursue a master’s degree in public health. Her mother and husband supported her in her move from California to study at the University of Michigan, where she served as a research assistant in the School of Public Health before earning her degree in molecular and hospital epidemiology in 2012. From there, she launched her career as a clinical research coordinator at Oregon Health & Science University and Stanford University. She subsequently advanced from a clinical trial associate at Vascular Dynamics, Inc. and a senior clinical trial associate at Revance Aesthetics.

Between 2020 and 2024, Ms. Yin served as a senior associate study manager at DOCS, now ICON Strategic Solutions and a clinical team manager of hematology, oncology, and general medicine at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. She’s currently active as a clinical trial manager of oncology at Eikon Therapeutics, where she conducts oncology and cancer research, performs clinical trials for developing new treatments for cancer, works with hospitals to administer drugs to patients, and assess any potential side effects and efficacy in treating the targeted disease. She’s further dedicated to her field as a longtime member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals and Society of Clinical Research Associates.

Ms. Yin’s primary objective is to ensure the success of all the clinical trials she is conducting, but, looking toward the future, she aims to develop herself into a great leader. Her previous experience of working with remarkable leaders has had a profound impact on her life and she aspires to become like them one day.
